ESC Tigers Announce Tryouts for 2011 Season

Evergreen Sports Center is Growing!

It has been a very successful two years since ESC first opened its doors as one of the premier performance baseball training facilities. Under the direction of former major league pitcher Joe Strong, the facility has helped many young baseball players develop into outstanding pitchers, hitters, and fielders.

At ESC, our philosophy is different than other training facilities. We believe that every player who is willing to work hard and dedicate themselves to improvement has unlimited potential – regardless of their current capabilities. And by developing the mental and physical skills necessary for the game, we instill confidence in the player that extends beyond baseball and into their daily life.

Players will receive year round development and instruction at the ESC facility in Federal Way, additional speed and agility training, and the exclusive availability of 1 on 1 pitching, hitting and fielding training. This is your opportunity to develop into the best baseball player you can be.

The Tigers will be holding tryouts and open workout sessions on the following dates:

Time: 5:00-7:00pm – ages 11 – 14
Location: Saghalie Middle School – Federal Way

Date: July 20th & 27th
Time: 6:00-8:00pm – age 15
Time: 8:00-10:00pm – ages 16-18
Location: Sacajawea Middle School – Federal Way

Date: Every Monday and Thursday July 19th – August 12th
Ages: 15 – 18
Time: 7:00-9:00pm
Location: Evergreen Sports Center

Date: Every Thursday from July 22 – August 12th
Ages: 11-14
Time: 5:00-7:00pm
Location: Evergreen Sports Center

Date: August 21st-22nd and August 28th-29th
Time: 1:00-3:00pm – Ages 11-14

ESC Summer Workshops

ESC is offering 2 sets of Summer Workshops. This is a great opportunity for anyone to tune up their hitting, pitching or catching skills. Coach Joe Strong will be the instructor. Space is very limited so register early. Call ESC at 253-874-2956 to register.

Hitting Camp
Hitting a baseball is arguably one of the hardest tasks in all of sports. The focus for this camp will not only cover hitting mechanics and swing conditioning, but also the mental approach and preparation. Learn what pitches to hit, spoil, and leave alone. Lessons are held twice a week for 1 ½ hours – total of 8 lessons. Class size is limited to 8 students.

Pitching Camp
Improve your velocity, control and confidence on the mound. This camp will cover all the mechanics of pitching including wind up, positioning of the glove and arm during delivery, upper body position, follow through, and many others. In addition, you will learn exercises to improve leg, arm, and overall core strength that will help you avoid injury and/or treat tired and sore arms. Lessons are held twice a week for 1 ½ hours – total of 8 lessons. Class size is limited to 8 students.

Catching Camp
Learn the finer points of catching or improve on what you already know. We will be covering blocking, footwork, receiving, throw downs, pick offs, pitcher management and controlling the game. Lessons are held twice a week for 1 ½ hours – total of 8 lessons. Class size is limited to 4 students.
